Hike entirely on natural desert surfaces with a lot of ups and downs, so wear sturdy shoes and watch your step. You will see a variety of desert flora and fauna--wildflowers should be plentiful after winter rains. Half way point for 10k has restrooms/water; 5k route has no facilities. Use sunscreen and carry water.
