Event Description:
NOTE: Effective May 12, 2022, out-of-state visitors must have an advanced reservation to enter the Diamond Head
State Monument. The reservation can be made 14 days in advance. Hawaii residents can still enjoy free access without reservations.

This walk circles Diamond Head Crater, passing the Waikiki Aquarium,
Honolulu Zoo, and Kapiolani Community College (KCC). Enter Diamond Head Crater State Park
through a tunnel, and continue on a steady uphill 0.7 miles to the summit. Spectacular views from
the top! Two options to the summit, through a bunker or via the "new" bypass trail. Nominal fee to
enter park. On Saturday mornings, enjoy the Farmer's Market at KCC. Recommend early start as
it is often hot at midday. Don't forget hiking sticks, water, and camera.

Short sections of this walk are on the sandy beaches of Waikiki and the boardwalk along the ocean.
Gorgeous views of Diamond Head and the Waikiki shoreline; return is through the heart of
Waikiki.

Walk along Diamond Head Road to the upscale Kahala District. Several lookout
points along Diamond Head Road. During whale season (December to April), it is a great place
to see humpback whales and always a great place to watch the sunset! Restrooms at start/finish
only.

Route takes you through beautiful Kailua Beach and Kailua Town. At Aala Point, you will have a gorgeous view of Kailua Bay.
Aala Point is the entrance to Lanikai, and Lanikai Beach is one of the best beaches on Oahu. Suggest early start as it is often

Event Description:
Beautiful walk through Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden with spectacular views along the way. This 400-acre garden is filled with plants from
tropical gardens around the world. The Garden was designed and built by the Army Corps of Engineers to provide flood protection for
Kaneohe. The walk is an out/back from the front to back gates of the Garden. Suggest getting a very early start so you will be ahead of
the vehicles driving into the Garden. (You will be sharing the road with them.) There is a security guard at the entrance gate.
Start Times: The Garden is open daily except for Christmas and New Years Day.
It is open to pedestrians from 6:30am and vehicles from 9am.

Event Description:
Walk through the Patsy Mink Central Oahu Regional Park and then a neighborhood park. Patsy Mink is a huge 259 acre park that is nicely
landscaped with paved winding walkways. You will be passing by baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts, swimming pool and archery
range. At both parks, there are many birds in the early morning hours. In winter months, you may see hundreds of rose-ringed parakeets
flying through the park at sunrise. Bring binoculars.

Enjoy a "cool" (1000-ft elevation) walk in one of Central Oahu's newest
developments, Mililani Mauka. Bring an umbrella as light showers often occur in the early morning.
Restrooms not available at start/finish but available on the route. Fast food and local restaurants
at the halfway point.

Walk starts on Old Walua Road Bicycle and Pedestrian Scenic Route and changes
from a bike path/road several times. Along the route are nicely landscaped homes and great
views of the coastline. Recommend early start as Kailua-Kona can be hot at midday. There is
partial shade on the route. No restrooms at start/finish and along route. However, restrooms are
available at nearby shopping center and service station.
