As the seat of Lander County, NV, Battle Mountain is a popular area in the region. The city's main industries have always been mining and ranching, both of which continue to this day. The city's name came from a battle that took place between Native Americans and prospectors who had discovered the copper in the mountains. Rumors swirl to this day over the details of the battle, or if it happened at all.
With such rich history and rich mountains, Battle Mountain, NV is a historic landmark of a town.

These are small towns in Nevada, and the sidewalks may be few and far between. Please walk where you feel safe to do so, and be aware the town folks probably do not expect to see someone walking on the side of the road.
